MANILA – Authorities served former Bamban, Tarlac Mayor Guo Hua Ping, also known as Alice Leal Guo, with another warrant of arrest over three counts of alleged violation of the Anti-Graft and Corrupt Practices Act.

The warrant was served at around 6 p.m. Friday, Aug. 14, at the Correctional Institution for Women (CIW) in Mandaluyong City, where Guo is currently detained.

The Manila Police District-Jose Abad Santos Police Station (PS-7) Warrant and Subpoena Section implemented the warrant issued by the Pasig Regional Trial Court Branch 67 on Aug. 7.

Guo is facing three separate cases for violation of Section 3(e) of Republic Act No. 3019, or the Anti-Graft and Corrupt Practices Act. The court set recommended bail at PHP90,000 for each count.

The cases also named 11 other accused.

CIW personnel said Guo underwent booking procedures, including the taking of her mugshot. The return of the warrant to the issuing court remains pending.

Guo is already serving a life sentence after a Pasig court convicted her of qualified human trafficking in connection with the operations of a Philippine Offshore Gaming Operator (POGO) hub in Bamban.

The court also sentenced several of her co-accused to life imprisonment and ordered them to pay fines and monetary reparations to the victims.

It further ordered the forfeiture in favor of the government of the PHP6-billion Baofu compound and the permanent revocation of the registration of Baofu Land Development Inc., Hongsheng Gaming Technology Inc., and Zun Yuan Technology Inc.

Meanwhile, the Bureau of Internal Revenue has filed a separate tax evasion case against Guo involving more than PHP1 billion in alleged unpaid taxes.
