MANILA – The Philippine Deposit Insurance Corporation (PDIC) will offer 68 properties in Luzon through electronic public bidding on Sept. 16 and 17, including three commercial properties located in key growth areas in Bulacan, Laguna, and Pangasinan.

The e-bidding will accept submissions from 9 a.m. on Sept. 16 until 1 p.m. on Sept. 17, with the opening of bids scheduled at 2 p.m. on Sept. 17 through the PDIC’s Assets for Sale portal.

The three commercial properties are located in Malolos City, Bulacan; Calamba City, Laguna; and Alaminos City, Pangasinan.

The Malolos property provides access to the city’s commercial and urban centers, while the Calamba property is situated along Mayapa-Canlubang Road, which connects key industrial areas, including the Silangan Industrial Park.

The Alaminos property, meanwhile, is located along Olongapo-Bugallon Road, providing access to the national highway and major business hubs in Pangasinan.

The remaining 65 properties consist of 34 agricultural properties, 22 residential properties, and nine mixed residential/agricultural properties.

The properties have lot areas ranging from 189 square meters to 3.9 hectares and are located in Albay, Aurora, Bataan, Batangas, Benguet, Bulacan, Ilocos Norte, Isabela, Laguna, La Union, Palawan, Pangasinan, Rizal, Tarlac, and Zambales.

The bidding is open to all qualified buyers who complete the required registration through the PDIC e-bidding portal. Prospective bidders may also access the property catalogue, detailed property information, bidding guidelines, documentary requirements, and prescribed forms for authorized representatives through the portal.

The PDIC reminded bidders that the properties will be sold on an “as-is-where-is” basis. Buyers are therefore advised to conduct due diligence on the condition, ownership, and legal status of properties before submitting their bids.

For agricultural properties, successful bidders must submit within 15 days of the e-bidding event an Affidavit of Aggregate Landholdings and a certification from the Department of Agrarian Reform Provincial Agrarian Reform Officer (PARO).

The PARO certification must confirm that the property is not covered by the Comprehensive Agrarian Reform Program and that no Emancipation Patent or Certificate of Land Ownership Award has been issued. The affidavit must also certify that the bidder’s total landholdings, including the property acquired, remain within the five-hectare legal limit.

The PDIC said proceeds from the sale of closed bank-owned properties will be used to settle claims of creditors, including depositors with uninsured deposits. Proceeds from the sale of corporate assets, meanwhile, will be added to the Deposit Insurance Fund, which finances valid deposit insurance claims.

The corporation, as statutory receiver of closed banks, liquidates their remaining assets to maximize recoveries and help settle outstanding claims.
