MANILA – Government offices in Metro Manila and 17 provinces will implement appropriate alternative work arrangements on Aug. 19, 2026, pursuant to Memorandum Circular No. 129.

The directive covers the following areas:

  • National Capital Region
  • Abra
  • Benguet
  • Ilocos Sur
  • La Union
  • Pangasinan
  • Bataan
  • Bulacan
  • Nueva Ecija
  • Pampanga
  • Tarlac
  • Zambales
  • Batangas
  • Cavite
  • Laguna
  • Rizal
  • Occidental Mindoro
  • Oriental Mindoro

Unless their respective local chief executives issue different directives, public and private schools in the affected areas will implement alternative learning modes and other learning continuity measures at all levels.

Government agencies responsible for basic and health services, disaster preparedness and response, and other essential services will continue operating to ensure the delivery of critical services.

Meanwhile, private-sector employers will have discretion over whether to suspend work or adopt alternative work arrangements for their employees.
