MANILA – The House of Representatives will adopt a work-from-home (WFH) arrangement on Tuesday due to inclement weather, while plenary sessions and committee meetings will continue online.
House Secretary General Cheloy E. Velicaria-Garafil announced the arrangement in an advisory issued Monday by authority of Speaker Faustino “Bojie” G. Dy III.
“All officials and employees shall observe a Work-from-Home (WFH) arrangement, except those whose physical presence is necessary for essential and critical operations,” the advisory said.
The House adopted the arrangement pursuant to Office of the President Memorandum Circular No. 128, dated Aug. 17, 2026.
Despite the work-from-home setup, legislative work will continue, with the scheduled plenary session to be conducted virtually through Zoom.
Scheduled committee meetings will likewise proceed online, subject to the discretion of their respective chairs.
However, the budget briefing scheduled for Tuesday has been postponed and will be rescheduled to a later date.
The House’s Monday briefing with the Development Budget Coordination Committee (DBCC), which formally opened deliberations on the proposed P7.2-trillion 2027 national budget, was still ongoing as of 8:30 p.m.
Officials and employees working from home were instructed to remain available and responsive during official working hours and ensure the continuity of essential legislative and administrative services.
The House also urged its personnel to exercise caution and prioritize their safety and well-being amid the prevailing weather conditions.
