MANILA — The Philippine Embassy in Washington, D.C. has urged Filipinos in the United States to stay informed about recent changes in U.S. immigration and visa policies and ensure compliance with applicable laws.

The Embassy issued the reminder following reports that the U.S. Department of State has begun reviewing B1/B2 business and tourist visas issued to foreign nationals who later applied for asylum in the United States.

Visa revocations are expected to be carried out on a rolling basis, the Embassy said.

Filipino nationals with concerns about their current immigration status were advised to seek guidance from a qualified U.S. immigration attorney or an accredited legal service provider based on their individual circumstances.

The Embassy stressed that immigration cases are determined by the appropriate U.S. authorities based on the circumstances of each case.
