MANILA – The southwest monsoon will continue to bring rains over Luzon and Visayas on Tuesday, with moderate to heavy and, at times, intense rainfall expected over Zambales and Bataan, according to the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA).

In its 24-hour public weather forecast issued at 4 a.m., PAGASA said Zambales and Bataan will experience monsoon rains due to the southwest monsoon, with possible flash floods and landslides caused by moderate to heavy and at times intense rains.

Pangasinan, Tarlac, Pampanga, Cavite, Batangas and Occidental Mindoro will have occasional rains, also brought by the southwest monsoon. Moderate to heavy rains may trigger flash floods or landslides in these areas.

Metro Manila, the rest of Luzon and Western Visayas will have cloudy skies with scattered rains and thunderstorms due to the southwest monsoon.

PAGASA warned of possible flash floods or landslides as moderate to at times heavy rains occur.

The rest of Visayas will experience partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated rainshowers or thunderstorms, while Mindanao will have similar conditions due to localized thunderstorms.

Flash floods or landslides are possible in areas affected by severe thunderstorms.

Winds over Luzon and Visayas will be light to moderate, blowing from southwest to west, with coastal waters expected to be slight to moderate at 0.6 to 2.1 meters.

Mindanao will also experience light to moderate winds, coming from the south to southwest, with coastal waters ranging from 0.6 to 2.1 meters.

Meanwhile, temperatures recorded over the 24-hour period ending at 8 p.m. Monday ranged from 24.9°C to 27.7°C, while relative humidity ranged from 81 percent to 94 percent.
