MANILA – The Southwest Monsoon will continue to affect Central Luzon, Southern Luzon and the Visayas, bringing rains and thunderstorms over several parts of the country in the next 24 hours, the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA) said Friday.

Pangasinan, La Union, Benguet, Zambales and Bataan will experience occasional rains due to the Southwest Monsoon, with moderate to heavy rains possibly triggering flash floods or landslides.

Metro Manila, the rest of Luzon, Western Visayas and Northern Samar will have cloudy skies with scattered rains and thunderstorms, also due to the Southwest Monsoon.

PAGASA warned of possible flash floods or landslides in these areas because of moderate to at times heavy rains.

The rest of the country will have partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated rainshowers or thunderstorms caused by localized thunderstorms. Severe thunderstorms may trigger flash floods or landslides.

In Northern Luzon, winds will be light to moderate, blowing from southeast to northeast, with coastal waters ranging from slight to moderate at 0.6 to 2.5 meters.

The Visayas and the rest of Luzon will experience light to moderate winds from southwest to south, with coastal waters at 0.6 to 1.8 meters.

Mindanao will have light to moderate winds from south to southwest, with coastal waters also ranging from 0.6 to 1.8 meters.
