MANILA — The Intertropical Convergence Zone (ITCZ) will bring cloudy skies, scattered rains and thunderstorms over parts of the Visayas and Mindanao on Wednesday, according to the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA).

PAGASA said the Negros Island Region, Central Visayas, Eastern Visayas, Zamboanga Peninsula, Northern Mindanao, Caraga, Masbate, Lanao del Sur and Davao Oriental will experience cloudy skies with scattered rains and thunderstorms due to the ITCZ.

Moderate to at times heavy rains in these areas may trigger flash floods or landslides.

The rest of the Visayas and Mindanao will have partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated rainshowers or thunderstorms, also due to the ITCZ. Severe thunderstorms may cause flash floods or landslides.

Metro Manila and the rest of Luzon will likewise experience partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated rainshowers or thunderstorms due to localized thunderstorms, with possible flash floods or landslides during severe thunderstorms.

Meanwhile, a tropical depression was located outside the Philippine Area of Responsibility (PAR) as of 3 a.m., 2,970 kilometers east of southeastern Luzon at 15.0°N, 149.3°E.

The tropical depression had maximum sustained winds of 55 kph near the center and gustiness of up to 70 kph. It was moving slowly west-northwestward.

Winds over Mindanao will be light to moderate from the south to southwest, with coastal waters ranging from 0.6 to 2.5 meters.

The Visayas and Palawan will experience light to moderate winds from the northwest to southwest, with coastal waters of 0.6 to 2.1 meters.

The rest of Luzon will have light to moderate winds from the northeast to northwest, with coastal waters ranging from 0.6 to 2.1 meters.

Over Metro Manila, temperatures in the past 24 hours reached a minimum of 24.9°C at 6 a.m. and a maximum of 30.3°C at 10 a.m. Relative humidity ranged from 68% to 96%.
