MANILA — The Intertropical Convergence Zone (ITCZ) and a low pressure area (LPA) will bring cloudy skies, rains and thunderstorms over parts of Luzon, Visayas and Mindanao on Thursday, according to the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA).

The LPA was estimated at 3 a.m. 125 kilometers east of Puerto Princesa City, Palawan, at 9.8°N, 119.9°E. It was embedded along the ITCZ affecting Southern Luzon, Visayas and Mindanao.

Visayas, MIMAROPA, Bicol Region, Zamboanga Peninsula, BARMM, Northern Mindanao, Caraga, Batangas, Quezon, Davao del Norte, Davao de Oro and Davao Oriental will experience cloudy skies with scattered rains and thunderstorms due to the ITCZ and LPA.

Moderate to at times heavy rains may trigger flash floods or landslides in affected areas.

The rest of Mindanao will have partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated rainshowers or thunderstorms due to the ITCZ, with possible flash floods or landslides during severe thunderstorms.

Metro Manila and the rest of Luzon will experience partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated rainshowers or thunderstorms caused by localized thunderstorms. Flash floods or landslides are possible during severe thunderstorms.

Meanwhile, Tropical Storm Dujuan (2625) was located 2,970 kilometers east of Northern Luzon at 3 a.m., outside the Philippine Area of Responsibility.

Dujuan had maximum sustained winds of 75 kph near the center and gustiness of up to 90 kph. It was moving north-northeastward at 20 kph.

Southern Luzon, Visayas and Mindanao will experience light to moderate winds from the southwest to southeast, with coastal waters ranging from 0.6 to 2.5 meters.

The rest of Luzon will have light to moderate winds from the northeast to east, with coastal waters also ranging from 0.6 to 2.5 meters.

For Metro Manila, the minimum temperature recorded during the 24-hour period ending 8 p.m. Wednesday was 25°C at 6 a.m., while the maximum was 32.4°C at noon.

Minimum relative humidity was 57 percent at 1 p.m., while the maximum was 98 percent at 3 p.m.

Sunrise in Metro Manila is at 5:45 a.m. Thursday, while sunset is at 5:56 p.m. Moonrise is at 10:50 a.m. and moonset at 10:13 p.m., with 37 percent illumination.
