MANILA— The Intertropical Convergence Zone (ITCZ) will bring cloudy skies, rains and thunderstorms over parts of the country on Wednesday, according to the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA).

In its 4 a.m. weather forecast, PAGASA said the ITCZ is affecting Palawan, the Visayas and Mindanao.

Negros Island Region, Zamboanga Peninsula and Palawan will experience cloudy skies with scattered rains and thunderstorms. Moderate to at times heavy rains may trigger flash floods or landslides in affected areas.

The rest of the Visayas and Mindanao will have partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated rainshowers or thunderstorms due to the ITCZ. Severe thunderstorms may also cause flash floods or landslides.

Metro Manila and the rest of Luzon will likewise experience partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated rainshowers or thunderstorms due to localized thunderstorms, with flash floods or landslides possible during severe thunderstorms.

Meanwhile, a tropical depression outside the Philippine Area of Responsibility was located 3,315 kilometers east of Central Luzon as of 3 a.m.

The tropical depression had maximum sustained winds of 45 kilometers per hour near the center and gustiness of up to 55 kph. It was moving west-southwestward at 10 kph.

For wind and coastal waters, Luzon will have light to moderate winds of variable direction, with slight to moderate coastal waters ranging from 0.6 to 1.2 meters.

The eastern sections of the Visayas and Mindanao will experience light to moderate winds from the northeast to northwest, with coastal waters at 0.6 to 1.2 meters.

The rest of the Visayas and Mindanao will have light to moderate winds of variable direction and slight to moderate coastal waters.

Over Metro Manila, the lowest temperature recorded during the 24-hour period ending 8 p.m. Tuesday was 25.3°C at 6 a.m., while the highest was 32.7°C at 2 p.m.

Relative humidity ranged from 61% to 95%.

Sunrise in Metro Manila was at 5:46 a.m., while sunset is expected at 5:47 p.m. Moonrise is at 8:26 p.m. and moonset at 8:50 a.m., with 82% illumination.
