MANILA— The Intertropical Convergence Zone (ITCZ) is expected to bring cloudy skies with scattered rainshowers and thunderstorms over Palawan, Visayas and Mindanao on Tuesday, the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA) said.

In its 24-hour public weather forecast issued at 4 a.m. Tuesday, PAGASA said moderate to at times heavy rains in these areas could trigger flash floods or landslides.

Batanes and the Babuyan Islands, meanwhile, may experience cloudy skies with light rains due to the northeasterly windflow, with no significant impacts expected.

Metro Manila and the rest of Luzon will have partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated rainshowers or thunderstorms caused by localized thunderstorms. Severe thunderstorms may also bring possible flash floods or landslides.

For coastal areas, PAGASA said extreme Northern Luzon will experience moderate to strong winds from the northeast, with coastal waters expected to be moderate to rough at 1.2 to 3.1 meters.

The rest of Luzon and the eastern section of Visayas will have light to moderate winds from the northeast to northwest, with slight to moderate coastal waters ranging from 0.6 to 1.8 meters.

The rest of the country will experience light to moderate winds from the southwest to west, with coastal waters also expected to be slight to moderate at 0.6 to 1.8 meters.

In Metro Manila, the temperature ranged from 25.8°C to 32.5°C during the previous 24-hour period ending at 8 p.m. Monday. Relative humidity ranged from 60% to 93%.

The sun is expected to rise at 5:46 a.m. and set at 5:42 p.m. Tuesday, while the moon is expected to rise at 1:34 a.m. and set at 2:38 p.m., with 19% illumination.
