MANILA— Several areas in Central and Southern Luzon may experience scattered rains and thunderstorms on Wednesday due to a shear line, with possible flash floods and landslides in areas affected by moderate to heavy rainfall, the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA) said.

In its 24-hour weather forecast issued at 4 a.m. on Oct. 28, PAGASA said cloudy skies with scattered rains and isolated thunderstorms would prevail over Aurora, Quezon, Oriental Mindoro, Marinduque, Camarines Norte, Camarines Sur and Catanduanes.

The northeast monsoon, meanwhile, will bring cloudy skies and light rains to Batanes, Apayao, Cagayan and Isabela, while partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated light rains are expected over the Ilocos Region, the rest of the Cordillera Administrative Region, the rest of Cagayan Valley and the rest of Central Luzon.

Metro Manila and the rest of the country will experience partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated rain showers or thunderstorms due to localized thunderstorms. Severe thunderstorms may trigger flash floods or landslides, PAGASA warned.

Moderate to strong northeast winds are forecast over Northern Luzon and the eastern sections of Central and Southern Luzon, with coastal waters ranging from moderate to rough at 1.5 to 3.4 meters.

The rest of the country will have light to moderate winds coming from the northeast to east, with slight to moderate coastal waters measuring 0.6 to 2.1 meters.

PAGASA recorded a minimum temperature of 23.1 degrees Celsius at 6 a.m. and a maximum of 33.8 degrees Celsius at 1 p.m. on Tuesday. Relative humidity ranged from 53% to 90%.

In Metro Manila, sunrise is expected at 5:50 a.m. and sunset at 5:29 p.m. The moon is forecast to rise at 7:14 p.m., with 92% illumination.
