MANILA— Several areas across the country may experience scattered rains and thunderstorms on Thursday due to the easterlies, while the northeast monsoon will bring light rains over parts of Northern Luzon, the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA) said.

In its 24-hour weather forecast issued at 4 a.m. on Nov. 5, PAGASA said the Bicol Region, Eastern Visayas, Marinduque, Romblon, Oriental Mindoro, Dinagat Islands, and Surigao del Norte will have cloudy skies with scattered rains and thunderstorms.

The weather bureau warned that moderate to occasionally heavy rainfall in these areas could trigger flash floods or landslides.

Meanwhile, Batanes and the Babuyan Islands will experience cloudy skies with light rains due to the northeast monsoon, with no significant weather impacts expected.

The Ilocos Region, Cordillera Administrative Region, and the rest of Cagayan Valley will have partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated light rains, also brought by the northeast monsoon.

Metro Manila and the rest of the country will experience partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated rainshowers or thunderstorms due to the easterlies. PAGASA cautioned that severe thunderstorms could cause flash floods or landslides.

For coastal conditions, light to moderate winds blowing from the northeast to east will prevail over Luzon and the Visayas, with slight to moderate seas ranging from 0.6 to 2.5 meters.

Similar wind conditions are expected over Mindanao, where coastal waters will also be slight to moderate, with wave heights of 0.6 to 1.5 meters.

PAGASA recorded a minimum temperature of 24.8 degrees Celsius at 5 a.m. and a maximum of 32.3 degrees Celsius at noon on Wednesday. Relative humidity ranged from a low of 50 percent at 11 a.m. to a high of 94 percent at 5 a.m.

In Metro Manila, sunrise is expected at 5:53 a.m. and sunset at 5:26 p.m. The moon will rise at 2:14 a.m. and set at 2:37 p.m., with 15 percent illumination.
