MANILA — The annual growth rate of the Construction Materials Wholesale Price Index (CMWPI) in the National Capital Region (NCR) rose to 0.8 percent in November 2025, recovering from a 0.2 percent annual decline in October 2025, the Philippine Statistics Authority (PSA) reported.

In November 2024, the CMWPI’s annual growth rate was recorded at 0.2 percent. The increase this month was largely driven by a faster annual rise in the heavily-weighted index of concrete products, which climbed to 2.5 percent from 0.2 percent in the previous month.

Faster annual increases were also seen in the indices of tileworks at 3.5 percent from 3.3 percent, and doors, jambs, and steel casement at 0.6 percent from 0.5 percent. Hardware and electrical works posted annual increases of 0.1 percent and 0.2 percent, respectively, compared with declines in October. Cement registered a slower annual decrease of 1.4 percent from 1.6 percent.

Conversely, slower annual growth was observed in G.I. sheets (0.2 percent from 0.3 percent), plumbing fixtures and waterworks (0.2 percent from 0.3 percent), painting works (0.4 percent from 0.9 percent), and PVC pipes (0.2 percent from 0.3 percent).

Faster annual declines were recorded in reinforcing steel (-1.5 percent from -1.3 percent), structural steel (-3.2 percent from -2.9 percent), metal products (-0.8 percent from -0.7 percent), and fuels and lubricants (-1.9 percent from -1.8 percent).

The PSA noted that indices for the remaining commodity groups either maintained their previous month’s rates or recorded zero percent annual change.
