MANILA — Global girl group Katseye is set to release a new EP titled “Wild” on August 14, with pre-orders and pre-saves now open.
The announcement was made through an Instagram video featuring members Daniela, Lara, Megan, Sophia, and Yoonchae, who said, “They don’t know we’re about to announce our new EP ‘Wild.’” The clip then transitioned to footage of their Coachella audience.
The group’s announcement, however, drew mixed reactions online, with some fans expressing disappointment over the continued absence of member Manon.
“It is OT6 or nothing. You should have waited until Manon’s return, or at least provided an official announcement to explain the situation if she has left. This lack of communication is unacceptable. The fans would have gladly waited for her,” a fan said.
“If Manon is out, so am I,” another fan added.
Katseye recently performed at the Coachella Music and Arts Festival last weekend without Manon, who remains on hiatus.
Manon previously said she is in communication with record labels Hybe and Geffen, adding that discussions have been positive.
“HxG and I are having positive conversations and I feel supported. I’m happy and I’m healthy. I’ll share more soon. Thank you for always being there for me,” she said.
Meanwhile, member Sophia expressed pride during the Coachella performance, where the group performed “Touch” and “Debut.”
Katseye also recently released its single “Pinky Up!” earlier this month.
