MANILA — Filipino singer Matty Juniosa is headed to the finals of “Britain’s Got Talent” after earning his second Golden Buzzer on the show.
Aired early Sunday morning (Philippine time), Juniosa returned to the stage with a powerful performance of Aerosmith’s “Dream On,” accompanied by a backup choir.
The performance drew strong applause from the audience and praise from all four judges.
“Stellar masterclass performance on how to deliver a Class A vocal. Well done!” judge Alesha Dixon said.
KSI also described the act as “fantastic,” while Simon Cowell commended Juniosa for his “incredible” vocal range.
Cowell had earlier given Juniosa his first Golden Buzzer in March after his rendition of Prince’s “Purple Rain.”
Amanda Holden, meanwhile, said she had previously discussed with the production team what would happen if she did not press the Golden Buzzer. She was told the audience would decide.
“I’m not giving it to the audience,” Holden said before pressing the Golden Buzzer for Juniosa.
The second Golden Buzzer automatically advanced the Filipino singer to the “Britain’s Got Talent” finals.
