MANILA — The government, through the Bureau of Customs (BOC), has generated close to ₱100 million from the auction of seized and forfeited items this year, including luxury vehicles.

In a statement, the BOC said it has so far collected a total of ₱99.508 million from public auction sales conducted nationwide.

Among the most notable transactions was the sale of a luxury vehicle on Tuesday, where a Rolls Royce Phantom 2023 was auctioned off for more than ₱25 million.

The vehicle was awarded to Pureblends Corporation, which was the lone bidder, with an offer of ₱25,543,000—just slightly above the floor price of ₱25,542,999.45.

“The activity was conducted in accordance with established rules and procedures, ensuring an open, fair, and competitive process in the disposal of seized and forfeited goods,” the bureau said.

BOC Commissioner Ariel Nepomuceno said public auctions are intended to ensure that confiscated goods are disposed of in a transparent manner while also generating revenue for government use.

The bureau also encouraged the public to take part in future auctions and to monitor official announcements through its website and communication channels for schedules and updates.
