MANILA — Filipino P-pop group member Gelo Rivera has entered the international music scene through a collaboration with Vietnamese pop star Vu Thao My for the dance track “Zealous (Ga San Moi).”

The Vietnamese version of the song was released on April 21, followed by the English version on April 24 across major streaming platforms, marking a cross-border release aimed at global audiences.

During a media huddle, Vu Thao My said she personally chose Rivera for the project, citing his fit with the track’s energy.

“I was looking for someone who can match the energy of the song, and Gelo was perfect for it,” she said, describing him as “fun, energetic, and natural.”

Rivera described the collaboration as a significant experience, saying it was “memorable, extraordinary, and cool,” and emphasized their creative chemistry throughout the project.

Both artists expressed appreciation for the support they received from fans in the Philippines and Vietnam. Vu also acknowledged the support of BGYO’s fanbase, the ACEs, for their messages and reception of the collaboration.

The artists said the project goes beyond music, positioning “Zealous” as a milestone for P-pop and V-pop collaboration. Vu expressed hope that it encourages more international partnerships in the future.

“I hope this opens so many doors and breaks barriers,” she said. “This should happen more often — and I hope it inspires other artists to do the same.”
