MANILA — Actress Janice de Belen said she prefers not to interfere in her children’s romantic relationships, emphasizing trust and independence in her parenting approach.

In an interview with Julius Babao, she said she allows her children, including her daughter Kaila Estrada, to make their own decisions when it comes to their love lives.

“I will have to trust them, love them, get along with them. Kasi malay ko ba, baka mamaya sila na nga talaga ‘yung mag-aalaga sa anak ko,” she said.

Asked about her advice to Kaila regarding relationships, de Belen gave a brief response.

“She’s 30 years old. Basta guard your heart,” she said.

The actress added that her parenting style centers on giving her children freedom and encouraging independence.

“I don’t coddle my children,” she said.

Her remarks come as Kaila has been linked to her “Incognito” co-star Daniel Padilla, although neither has confirmed any romantic relationship.

On April 28, social media users noted that Kaila shared an Instagram story showing her and Padilla hugging, accompanied by the song Hallelujah by Justin Bieber. Padilla marked his 31st birthday on April 26.
