MANILA — Actress AJ Raval said she has decided to stop accepting “sexy” movie roles, saying she now wants to focus on her children and her partner, Aljur Abrenica.

Raval made the statement during her appearance on the May 11 episode of the talk show Fast Talk with Boy Abunda, which also marked her first guesting on the program since revealing that she has five children.

The actress discussed her acting comeback through an upcoming episode of Magpakailanman, her first project since leaving streaming platform VMX.

During the interview, host Boy Abunda asked Raval if she would still consider taking on another sexy role, the type of project that helped launch her career.

Raval said she received similar offers after her previous appearance on the show in November but decided against accepting them.

“Pero nag-decide na ako na hindi ko siya gawin o tanggapin dahil ‘sexy,’” she said. “Siyempre may mga anak na rin ako, ilan na, ayaw ko nang gumawa ng ganoon.”

She added that Abrenica supports whatever decision she makes regarding such projects and said they respect each other’s choices as partners.

Raval also said she would not object if Abrenica accepted a sexy role himself, expressing confidence in him.

The actress admitted regretting some of her mature-themed projects in the past.

“Wala na akong magagawa, nagawa ko na. Pero ang maganda doon [ay] marami akong natutunan… at hindi na gagawin ng mga anak ko,” she said.

Following her “Magpakailanman” episode airing on May 16, Raval said she hopes to pursue more dramatic roles, saying she wants to further explore acting opportunities outside sexy films.
