MANILA – Sara Duterte raised concerns over renewed discussions on Charter change, warning that it could pave the way for President Ferdinand Marcos Jr. to remain in power beyond his term.
In a report, it said that in a media interview in The Hague, Duterte said the administration should focus on economic recovery instead of political initiatives, accusing it of using government resources to weaken the political opposition amid rising tensions.
She said the concerns stem from what she described as recent statements from the President indicating openness to discussions on Charter change.
Duterte warned that such developments could have long-term political implications, echoing concerns previously raised by former president Rodrigo Duterte.
