MANILA – Gilas Pilipinas big man Kai Sotto and actress Rere Madrid are now married after holding a garden wedding ceremony in Alfonso, Cavite.

In a report, it said that the couple surprised fans on Wednesday, May 27, after wedding photos and videos were posted by Nice Print Photo on Instagram, showing highlights of the ceremony attended by family, friends, and colleagues from showbiz and basketball.

Madrid, a cast member of the recently concluded fantasy series “Encantadia Chronicles: Sang’gre,” also shared a heartfelt message on Instagram reflecting on their wedding day.

“Still feels unreal that we finally get to call this day ours. (Mr & Mrs Sotto),” she wrote with a ring and heart emoji.

“First, we want to thank God for this wonderful blessing we experienced this year. Even though we went through challenges, misunderstandings, and people who tried to break what we had, we still chose to trust each other. Because of that, our relationship became even stronger, together with the love and support of our families,” she added.

The wedding video showed the couple exchanging vows in an intimate garden setting, with both dressed in white—Madrid in a strapless wedding gown and Sotto in a long-sleeved polo paired with white trousers. Sotto wore his long hair tied back during the ceremony.

Guests included close friends and family members, among them Madrid’s brother, actor Ruru Madrid.

Sotto and Madrid publicly confirmed their relationship when they attended the GMA Ball in 2024.
