MANILA — Actress Janice de Belen sidestepped confirming rumors linking her daughter Kaila Estrada to actor Daniel Padilla in a recent television interview, but said she remains supportive of her daughter’s happiness.

In a report, Janice appeared on the May 29, 2026 episode of “Fast Talk with Boy Abunda” ahead of her guesting in the GMA programs “Magpakailanman” and “Wish Ko Lang.”

Midway through the interview, host Boy Abunda brought up Daniel Padilla in connection with ongoing rumors involving Kaila Estrada, prompting Janice to initially react with surprise.

The actress briefly feigned shock after the question, prompting Abunda to apologize, noting that Daniel Padilla might be watching the program.

Despite the exchange, Janice emphasized that she prioritizes her daughter’s well-being.

“I am just happy that Kaila is happy, ‘yun lang. Para sa isang parent, ang gusto mo lang ay maging masaya [mga anak mo],” she said. “When you see your child’s happy, anong karapatan mong makialam at gumitna sa happiness? Basta happy ka, ‘yun lang gusto ko.”

After Abunda praised Kaila as a strong actress, Janice said she regularly reminds her children that she may have concerns when it comes to their relationships, driven by concern for their safety and feelings.

She also reflected on her own past, saying she was once rebellious at the same age and used to ask her parents to trust her decisions.

“I have to trust my children, na kaya nila, na kaya nila panindigan, and whatever happens they’ll come out of it okay,” she said.

Kaila Estrada is Janice de Belen’s daughter with ex-husband John Estrada. Her other children include Inah, Moira, and Yuan. She also has a son, Luigi, with actor Aga Muhlach.
