MANILA — TV host Ryan Bang has confirmed that he has been single since January following his breakup with his fiancée Paola Huyong, saying he made efforts to reconcile before ultimately ending the relationship.

In a media report, Bang discussed the status of his relationship during an appearance on Vice Ganda’s vlog released on Saturday, June 6, alongside fellow “It’s Showtime” hosts.

Vice Ganda asked about his current relationship status, prompting Bang to address circulating breakup rumors that emerged in late 2025 after Huyong reportedly removed their photos from social media.

“I’m single. Personally sa side ko, January,” Bang said.

Bang and Huyong had been together since publicly confirming their relationship in 2003 and announced their engagement in June 2024.

In December last year, Bang said he was still trying to repair their relationship.

“Tinry ko eh, tinry ko na ayusin. Kasi alam ko, nung panahon na ‘yon, hindi ko maintindihan, ba’t ‘di umabot nang ganito. I was trying, I was hoping, I was praying na maayos,” he said.

He said he struggled to accept the breakup, adding that he did not expect the relationship to end. He also admitted to shortcomings but maintained that he had made efforts to keep the relationship intact.

Bang also denied allegations of infidelity, saying rumors that cheating caused the breakup were untrue.

“S’yempre sa relationship, meron din akong kasalanan pero I never cheat. Hindi totoo ‘yun, ‘yung sinasabi ng mga tao,” he said.

“I never cheat. Even before, I never cheat. Hindi ako ganon. Serious din ako sa relationship,” he added.

Despite the breakup, Bang said he remains grateful to both families, particularly Huyong’s parents, whom he described as kind, and noted that both families had hoped they would reconcile.

However, he said their relationship ended due to cultural differences and differing views on marriage.

“Yes. Magkaiba pala ‘yung paniniwala, magkaiba pala ‘yung gawi, tsaka magkaiba pala thinking lalo na pagdating sa marriage,” he said.

He added that the decision to end the relationship was difficult.

“Talagang tigil ang mundo. Sobrang hirap. Sobrang pagsisisi nung lahat. In all of my life, ‘yun ‘yung pinaka-hard and darkest time of my life,” he said.
