MANILA — The camp of contractor Pacifico “Curlee” Discaya II said it will file a petition for bail following his arrest for malversation through falsification of public documents.
In a media report, it said that in a report on Unang Balita, Discaya’s legal team said the contractor was merely dragged into the case.
They also said they intend to prove that Discaya is not a beneficial owner of St. Timothy Construction Corporation, the firm linked to an alleged anomalous flood control project in Calumpit.
Discaya was arrested while at the Senate, where he had been detained after being cited in contempt in September 2025.
He was later transferred to the Bulacan Provincial Jail.
Authorities earlier identified Discaya as among nine accused in the alleged flood control irregularities in Bulacan, who are now in custody, according to the Department of the Interior and Local Government.
Meanwhile, Discaya’s lawyer, Cornelio Samaniego III, said he is prepared to name around 150 individuals allegedly involved in the scheme.
“Habang almost nine months na siya sa Senate detention facility, isa-isa nare-recall niya lahat kung sino ‘yung mga ‘yun,” Samaniego said.
(While he has been in the Senate detention Facility for almost nine months, he has been recalling one by one who those people were.)
“Antayin na lang natin kasi sabi niya papangalanan daw niya,” he added.
(Let us wait for it because he said he will name them.)
