Pop superstar Taylor Swift was seen courtside at Madison Square Garden on Wednesday (Thursday morning in the Philippines) as the New York Knicks faced the San Antonio Spurs in Game 4 of the NBA Finals.
Swift, a 14-time Grammy Award winner, wore a blue and orange Knicks shirt with the slogan “Stevie Knicks” as she joined other celebrity fans in the arena, including filmmaker Spike Lee and actor Ben Stiller.
Her appearance added to the high-profile atmosphere surrounding the series, which has drawn widespread attention across the United States.
The sighting came a day after Swift’s surprise performance at the world premiere of the film “Toy Story 5” in Los Angeles, where she also contributed a song to the soundtrack. It also coincided with ongoing speculation that Madison Square Garden may be the venue for her reported wedding to NFL player Travis Kelce next month.
The Knicks are aiming for their first NBA championship since 1973, while the Spurs—led by French standout Victor Wembanyama—continue their title bid in the series.
The matchup has been a major storyline in the league, with New York’s early victories in the first two games in San Antonio fueling strong fan excitement.
The Spurs managed to bounce back with a win in Game 3 at Madison Square Garden, a game also marked by the presence of former US President Donald Trump, who was booed by the crowd as he attended as a guest of Knicks owner James Dolan.
That Game 3 broadcast drew significant viewership, becoming the most-watched NBA Finals Game 3 since 1998, according to Nielsen Media Research. It averaged 23.8 million viewers and peaked at 26.3 million during the fourth quarter, marking the largest television audience since Super Bowl 60 on February 8.
Swift is not new to supporting the Knicks. Born in Pennsylvania, she has attended previous games since relocating to New York in 2014.
Three weeks earlier, Swift and Kelce were also seen attending a Knicks playoff game against the Cleveland Cavaliers in Cleveland, a match that ended in a Knicks win.
