MANILA — Kapuso actor Vince Maristela and veteran actress-host Charo Santos-Concio are on good terms following a humorous mistaken identity incident that went viral online during an “It’s Showtime” segment.

In a report, it said that the exchange happened during the June 10, 2026 “Laro Laro Pick” segment of the noontime show, when host Vice Ganda asked Vince who hosted the ABS-CBN program “Maalaala Mo Kaya” (MMK).

Vince mistakenly answered Cory Vidanes, an ABS-CBN executive, instead of Charo Santos-Concio, who is the longtime host of the program.

The response drew laughter from the studio, with Vice Ganda reacting on-air.

“Ms. Annette oh si Vince playtime!” Vice said, jokingly calling on GMA Network senior vice president Annette Gozon. “Ito na ‘yung pinakamadaling tanong dito!”

The moment quickly circulated online, sparking lighthearted exchanges among Vince, Charo, and Annette Gozon, and drawing reactions from both ABS-CBN and GMA audiences.

Despite the viral mix-up, Vince and Charo later met during the Mega Ball held at a Makati hotel on June 12, where they posed for a photo referencing the incident.

“Good morning bati na po kami hehe. Congratulations, Ma’am Charo. Thank you for inspiring many generations of artists. A legend. An icon,” Vince said on Instagram, congratulating Charo after she was named a MEGA Global Icon at the event.

As noted during the segment, Charo Santos-Concio has hosted Maalaala Mo Kaya, the country’s longest-running drama anthology, since its launch in 1991.
