MANILA — Content creator and podcaster Baus Rufo turned a live broadcast slip into a lighthearted moment after mistakenly greeting viewers as “Mga Kapamilya” instead of “Mga Kapuso” during his guest appearance on Unang Hirit aired on GMA Network.
In a report, it said that the error happened during Rufo’s first live appearance on the morning program. He immediately caught the mistake, corrected himself on-air, and said it was his first time participating in a live morning broadcast.
Following the incident, Rufo shared the clip on social media and joked about his debut on the show.
“Willing po ako to work overtime without pay at mag-choreograph ng Christmas party number for free,” he said on Facebook.
He also wrote that his appearance had turned into what he jokingly called his “first and last episode.”
Before the broadcast, Rufo had expressed excitement about joining the program and posted about hoping to wake up on time for his guest stint. After the moment went viral, viewers responded online with humor and light teasing over the slip.
Despite the on-air mistake, Rufo’s appearance did not affect his engagement with the program. He later shared a message from an Unang Hirit researcher inviting him to return as a host the following day, to which he replied, “Okay buhay pa tayo.”
Rufo is one of the hosts of the podcast Dogshow Divas alongside Mark “Macoy Dubs” Averilla. He also appears as a “Celebri-peep” on The People Have Spoken.
