MANILA — P-pop group SB19 is set to appear at the Grammy Museum in Los Angeles days before making history as the first homegrown Filipino act to perform at the Lollapalooza music festival in Chicago.

In a report, it said that the group will take the stage at Lollapalooza for a one-hour performance on July 30, marking a milestone for Filipino music on the international festival circuit.

Ahead of the festival, SB19 will participate in the Grammy Museum’s “Global Spin Live” series on July 28, where they will perform and discuss their upcoming music, career, and other topics.

The Grammy Museum described SB19 as “one of the most influential acts in Southeast Asian music” and “the pioneers of modern P-pop.” It also said the group’s appearance at Lollapalooza “further strengthens their global prominence and Filipino representation.”

The sold-out “Global Spin Live” event will be hosted by singer Emily Mei, who also moderated the session featuring fellow P-pop group BINI in April.

Before leaving for the United States, SB19 is scheduled to headline the OPMCON Generations concert on July 11.

Two weeks after their Lollapalooza performance, SB19 and BINI will perform at this year’s Summer Sonic Festival in Japan, which will be held simultaneously in Chiba and Osaka.

The Summer Sonic appearance will take place during the North American leg of BINI’s “Signals” world tour, between the group’s shows in San Diego, California, and Vancouver, Canada.
