MANILA—Jelai Andres is celebrating the annulment of her marriage to Jon Gutierrez, describing the court decision as the beginning of a new chapter in her life.

In a report, it said that in a new vlog, Andres shared the moment she informed her family and close friends that her annulment had been finalized after years of waiting. The video showed her loved ones celebrating the news, marking her return to being legally single.

Among those who congratulated her was Zeinab Harake.

“Kung alam niyo lang kung gaano niya katagal hinintay ‘to. Siyempre ima-manifest natin ‘yung kasal na pang-habangbuhay. Hindi ‘yung prank relationship. Tama na tayo sa prank relationship, doon na tayo sa seryoso,” Harake said.

In the vlog, Andres also explained why she chose to remain single following her separation from Gutierrez, saying she prioritized her healing instead of entering another relationship.

“Pwede naman akong mag-jowa. Pero ako sa sarili ko, kumpleto kasi ako kahit wala siya. Hindi ko siya hinanap. After noon, naging masaya ako. Super saya ko,” Andres said.

“After ng napag-daanan ko, parang super saya ko. Kumpleto ako. Super mahal ko ‘yung sarili ko. Alam ko naman na healed na ako, pero ito ‘yung pinaka-end,” she added.

Donnalyn Bartolome also expressed happiness over the annulment, saying she had witnessed Andres’ “darkest moments” during her marriage.

“I’m so happy for you. Thank you, Lord,” Bartolome said.
