MANILA – President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr. has assured Filipino workers that wage increases will continue following the approval of the PHP85 daily wage hike in the National Capital Region (NCR), Malacañang said on Wednesday.

Speaking at a Palace press briefing, Presidential Communications Office Undersecretary and Palace Press Officer Claire Castro quoted the President as saying, “Magtutuloy-tuloy na ang pagtaas ng sahod ng mga manggagawa sa Pilipinas.”

Castro said the President has directed the Regional Tripartite Wages and Productivity Boards to continue studying wage adjustments in other regions.

“Sa utos ni Pangulong Marcos Jr., patuloy ang pag-aaral na ginagawa ng Regional Tripartite Wages and Productivity Boards upang magpatupad ng salary increase sa iba pang rehiyon,” she said.

She added that the President is optimistic more regional wage increases will be approved in the coming months or before the end of 2026.

According to Castro, the government has recorded the highest number of wage increases over the past four years, reflecting the administration’s commitment to improving workers’ welfare.

She said Marcos considers protecting workers’ welfare a priority as the government continues to pursue higher wages and better living conditions for Filipino employees.

Since 2023, the average increase per wage order has reached seven percent. With the latest PHP85 daily wage hike in the NCR, the total approved wage increases for workers have reached PHP210.
