MANILA – Eligible government employees are expected to receive their 2024 Performance-Based Bonus (PBB) within the year, Malacañang said Thursday.
Speaking to reporters, Palace Press Officer Claire Castro said the funding for the 2024 PBB has already been provided under the 2026 General Appropriations Act (GAA).
Citing the Department of Budget and Management (DBM), Castro said the incentive could even be released earlier depending on the implementation schedule.
“Inaasahang maipagkakaloob ngayong taon. Baka mas maaga pa. Ang pondo para rito ay nakapaloob sa (The bonus is expected to be released this year, possibly even earlier. The funding for the 2024 PBB is included in the) FY 2026 General Appropriations Act,” Castro said.
The Office of the President approved the grant of the 2024 PBB to qualified government employees after a review by the technical working group created under Executive Order (EO) No. 61, which President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr. signed in 2024.
EO 61 established a streamlined and simplified government performance management and incentives system.
The PBB is a performance-based incentive granted to qualified personnel of government agencies that satisfy the requirements of the government’s performance management system.
Under a memorandum circular issued on July 3, government agencies must obtain an overall score of at least 70 points under the prescribed scoring system to qualify for the bonus.
Agencies that receive a rating below four in any eligibility criterion will not qualify for the incentive.
The memorandum circular also provides that organizational units and individuals, including the head of the concerned unit, found primarily responsible for any deficiency will be isolated and excluded from the grant of the fiscal year 2024 PBB.
