MANILA — Eastern Visayas, Caraga, Bohol, and Davao Oriental may experience cloudy skies with scattered rains and thunderstorms on Tuesday due to the trough of a low pressure area (LPA), the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA) said.

In its 24-hour public weather forecast issued at 4 a.m. Tuesday, PAGASA warned that moderate to at times heavy rains in these areas could trigger flash floods and landslides.

Palawan, Occidental Mindoro, and Oriental Mindoro will have partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated rainshowers or thunderstorms due to the southwest monsoon. Severe thunderstorms in these areas may also cause flash floods or landslides.

Metro Manila and the rest of the country will likewise experience partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated rainshowers or thunderstorms caused by localized thunderstorms.

PAGASA warned of possible flash floods and landslides in affected areas during severe thunderstorms.

Meanwhile, moderate to strong winds from the northeast to northwest are expected over Northern Luzon and the eastern sections of Central and Southern Luzon, with coastal waters forecast to be moderate to rough at 1.2 to 2.8 meters.

Visayas, Mindanao, and the rest of Southern Luzon will experience light to moderate winds from the southwest to northwest, with slight to moderate coastal waters ranging from 0.6 to 1.8 meters.

The rest of the country will have light to moderate winds from the southwest to south, while coastal waters are expected to remain slight to moderate at 0.6 to 1.2 meters.

In Metro Manila, sunrise is expected at 5:45 a.m. and sunset at 5:53 p.m. Tuesday. Moonrise will be at 2:54 p.m., while moonset is expected at 1:40 a.m., with the moon’s illumination at 82%.

PAGASA recorded a minimum temperature of 25.5°C and maximum temperature of 32.1°C in the previous 24-hour period ending at 8 p.m. Monday. Relative humidity ranged from 60% to 95%.
