MANILA— The Bureau of Customs (BOC) collected P757.406 billion from January to September 2026, its highest nine-month revenue collection to date, exceeding its target for the period by P8.913 billion, or 1.2%.

The agency’s nine-month target was P748.494 billion, while the latest collection was also 7.9% higher than the P701.671 billion recorded during the same period last year.

The increase translates to an additional P55.735 billion in actual revenue compared with the first nine months of 2025.

September collections alone reached P93.339 billion, beating the month’s P89.184-billion target by P4.155 billion, or 4.7%. It was likewise P13.056 billion, or 16.3%, higher than the amount collected in September 2025.

BOC Commissioner Ariel F. Nepomuceno attributed the agency’s sustained revenue performance to the work of its personnel as it pursues its P1-trillion collection goal for the year.

“To all our men and women in the Bureau of Customs, the ₱1-trillion goal is ambitious, but our performance shows that we are on the right track. Sa loob pa lang ng siyam na buwan, nakalikom na tayo ng ₱757.4 billion, nalampasan ang ating target, at nakapagtala ng 7.9% growth compared to the same period last year. Higit sa numbers, these results reflect your hard work, dedication, and commitment to public service. Kaya hinihingi ko ang patuloy ninyong suporta at pagkakaisa habang tinatahak natin ang huling tatlong buwan ng taon,” Commissioner Nepomuceno said.

Nepomuceno said the remaining target should be treated as a collective responsibility across the agency.

“Let us look at this goal not as a responsibility of a few, but as a shared mission of the entire Bureau. At ang tagumpay ng Bureau ay hindi lang tagumpay ng ahensya kundi tagumpay ng buong bansa. Every peso we properly collect goes back to our people, supporting the services and programs they need. Kaya sama-sama tayong magtrabaho, magtulungan, at maniwala na kaya nating makamit—not for the numbers alone, but for the country we are all here to serve,” he added.

The BOC said the growth was supported by strengthened monitoring and collection measures, improved valuation and assessment, stepped-up enforcement against smuggling and other revenue leakages, and continued modernization of customs processes.

These initiatives are being implemented under Nepomuceno’s Integrity, Accountability, and Modernization (IAM) Movement, which aims to improve revenue administration, facilitate legitimate trade, strengthen accountability and ensure the proper collection of revenues legally due to the government.

With three months left in the year, the BOC said it will focus on maintaining its collection momentum as it works toward reaching the P1-trillion mark.
