MANILA— The Intertropical Convergence Zone (ITCZ) will bring cloudy skies, scattered rains and thunderstorms over Visayas, Mindanao and Palawan on Wednesday, the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA) said.

In its 24-hour public weather forecast issued at 4 a.m. Wednesday, PAGASA warned that moderate to at times heavy rains in these areas could trigger flash floods or landslides.

Batanes and Cagayan will also experience cloudy skies with rains due to the northeasterly windflow, with possible flash floods or landslides from moderate to at times heavy rainfall.

Metro Manila and the rest of Luzon, meanwhile, will have partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated rainshowers or thunderstorms caused by localized thunderstorms.

PAGASA said severe thunderstorms in these areas could also result in flash floods or landslides.

Rough seas seen in northern, eastern Northern Luzon

Moderate to strong winds from the northeast are expected over the northern and eastern sections of Northern Luzon, where coastal waters will be moderate to rough, with wave heights of 2.5 to 4 meters.

The rest of Luzon will experience light to moderate winds from the northeast to northwest, with slight to moderate coastal waters ranging from 0.6 to 2.5 meters.

In Visayas and Mindanao, winds will be light to moderate and will blow from the southwest to northwest. Coastal waters will remain slight to moderate, with waves ranging from 0.6 to 1.8 meters.

For Metro Manila, sunrise is at 5:46 a.m. and sunset at 5:42 p.m. Wednesday. The moon is expected to rise at 2:31 a.m. and set at 3:20 p.m., with 11% illumination.

PAGASA recorded a minimum temperature of 25.1°C at 5 a.m. and a maximum of 32.3°C at noon during the 24-hour period ending 8 p.m. Tuesday. Relative humidity ranged from a minimum of 63% at 11 a.m. to a maximum of 94% at 7 p.m.
