
MANILA— The Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA) said the Intertropical Convergence Zone (ITCZ) will bring cloudy skies, scattered rains and thunderstorms over Visayas, Mindanao and Palawan on Thursday.
In its 4 a.m. forecast, PAGASA said moderate to at times heavy rains in these areas could trigger flash floods or landslides.
The ITCZ is also affecting Visayas, Mindanao and Palawan, while the northeasterly windflow is affecting the eastern section of Northern Luzon.
Cagayan Valley, Bicol Region, Apayao, Kalinga, Mountain Province, Ifugao, Aurora, Quezon and Marinduque will experience cloudy skies with rains due to the northeasterly windflow.
These areas may also experience flash floods or landslides because of moderate to at times heavy rains.
Metro Manila and the rest of the country will have partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated rainshowers or thunderstorms caused by localized thunderstorms. Severe thunderstorms may also trigger flash floods or landslides.
PAGASA forecast moderate to strong winds from the northeast over the northern and eastern sections of Luzon, with coastal waters expected to be moderate to rough at 2.1 to 3.4 meters.
Palawan and Mindanao will have light to moderate winds from the southwest to west, with slight to moderate coastal waters ranging from 0.6 to 2.1 meters.
The rest of the country will experience light to moderate winds from the northeast to northwest, with coastal waters also expected to be slight to moderate at 0.6 to 2.1 meters.
For Metro Manila, sunrise is expected at 5:46 a.m. and sunset at 5:41 p.m. Thursday. Moonrise is at 3:26 a.m., while moonset is at 4 p.m., with the moon at 5% illumination.
The weather agency recorded a minimum temperature of 24.6°C at 5 a.m. and a maximum temperature of 33°C at 4 p.m. on Wednesday.
Relative humidity ranged from a low of 62% at 10 a.m. to a high of 95% at 6 a.m.
