MANILA— The Commission on Elections (Comelec) has expressed support for the film “2 Valid IDs,” confirming that it authorized the production to use the agency’s official seal during filming.

In a statement, the poll body said it approved the request during the movie’s principal photography in recognition of the real-life documentation difficulties depicted in the film, which the commission said it has been working to address.

Comelec Chairman George Erwin M. Garcia has ensured that voter certification services have been free of charge since 2022 as part of the agency’s efforts to remove documentation barriers and improve frontline registration services.

The commission acknowledged that illegal fixers continue to operate but warned that complaints involving fixer activities and counterfeit documents would be addressed promptly and strictly in accordance with the law.

It reminded the public that both voter registration and voter certification are entirely free.

Individuals who encounter fixers are encouraged to report them directly to the Office of the Chairman through ocgemg@comelec.gov.ph, the national citizens’ complaint hotline 8888, or the Anti-Red Tape Authority (ARTA).
