
MANILA — The Philippines currently has 252 infrastructure projects valued at PHP3.16 trillion in the pipeline for implementation by both the national government and the private sector, according to data from the Public-Private Partnership (PPP) Center as of Monday.
Of the total, 168 projects worth PHP3.02 trillion will be undertaken by the national government, while 84 projects valued at PHP136.26 billion are set for implementation by local government units.
Railway projects account for the largest share of the pipeline at PHP1.97 trillion, followed by land transport projects worth PHP274.06 billion and property development projects totaling PHP221.46 billion.
PPP data also showed that the Department of Transportation will handle the bulk of the projects, with PHP2.02 trillion worth of initiatives, while the Philippine National Railways is set to implement PHP1.22 trillion worth of projects.
Most of the projects are planned for deployment in the National Capital Region, Central Luzon, and the Ilocos Region.
