MANILA – The Philippine Amusement and Gaming Corporation has launched a round-the-clock hotline aimed at assisting individuals experiencing gambling-related problems, including affected family members.
In a statement released, PAGCOR said its National Problem Gambling Helpline (NPGH), launched on Tuesday in partnership with the Seagulls Flock Organization Inc., may be reached at 02-8248-9568.
PAGCOR Chairman and Chief Executive Officer Alejandro Tengco, in a message read during the launch by Senior Vice President for Land-Based Operations Daniel Cecilio, said the hotline is intended to serve individuals struggling with gambling-related issues, including their families.
He said the initiative underscores PAGCOR’s commitment to responsible and accountable gaming operations.
“PAGCOR is aware that for many, gaming is just a form of leisure and recreation. But for some, what may start as entertainment can gradually lead to financial strain and ruin, emotional distress, damaged relationships, and isolation,” he said.
According to PAGCOR, the helpline will be staffed by 12 para-counselors and mental health professionals working in three shifts to provide 24/7 assistance.
The NPGH will offer immediate support, psychological assistance, and referrals for individuals dealing with gambling-related concerns, as well as for their families, in line with established crisis referral protocols.
