MANILA – Former “Eat Bulaga” host Anjo Yllana has been ordered by a Mandaluyong court to pay PHP3.5 million in damages to TVJ Productions over statements he made against his former co-hosts during TikTok videos and livestreams in 2025.

In a report, it said that in an 18-page decision dated June 30, Presiding Judge Gloria Monica S. Lopez of the Mandaluyong City Regional Trial Court Branch 279 ruled in favor of TVJ Productions, the production company behind the noontime program led by Sen. Tito Sotto, Vic Sotto and Joey de Leon.

The court ordered Yllana to pay a total of PHP3.5 million covering temperate damages, moral damages, exemplary damages, attorney’s fees and litigation expenses.

The case stemmed from Yllana’s TikTok videos and livestreams in 2025, in which the complainant alleged that he made false, malicious and defamatory statements against “Eat Bulaga” and its hosts.

The ruling also prohibited Yllana, his agents and representatives from publishing, broadcasting, sharing, distributing or reuploading on any social or digital platform defamatory statements against TVJ Productions and “Eat Bulaga.”

In separate statements, TVJ Productions and Tito Sotto welcomed the court’s decision.

TVJ Productions described the ruling as a “definitive vindication of the integrity of ‘Eat Bulaga,’ its hosts and management,” adding that it also serves as a “stern warning” on the responsible use of social media.

Sotto, meanwhile, said the decision shows that the country’s justice system works.

“Fake news and besmirching reputations have no place in a sane society,” Sotto said in a message sent to Philippine Star.
