NEW YORK — Former actress Lourna Jane “LJ” Reyes and her husband, Philip Evangelista, have expanded their cookie business by opening their first permanent store in Northport village on Long Island.

In a report, it said that the couple, who previously sold cookies online and through rotating pop-up shops, recently launched a brick-and-mortar location for their business, The Village Cookie.

The shop is located in Northport, next to Eaton’s Neck, where Reyes and Evangelista were married in October 2023. The couple also held a photoshoot in front of the building before it became the home of their business.

The Village Cookie held a soft opening in May before officially opening in June with a ribbon-cutting ceremony attended by family and friends, including Reyes’ son Aki, whom she shares with actor Paulo Avelino, and her daughter Summer with actor Paolo Contis.

In a social media post, the Northport chamber of commerce welcomed the business to the community.

“The Village Cookie has already become a special addition to our downtown,” the chamber of commerce said.

“Their passion for creating treats that spark conversation, bring people together, and create lasting memories perfectly reflects the spirit of Northport.”
