MANILA – Vice President Sara Duterte on Monday filed a second perjury complaint against Ramil L. Madriaga over allegations contained in his supplemental affidavit submitted in connection with the impeachment proceedings.

Duterte filed the complaint for perjury under Article 183 of the Revised Penal Code before the Office of the City Prosecutor of Taguig on August 17, according to her legal counsel Salvador Paolo A. Panelo Jr.

Panelo said the complaint, which runs to about 1,000 pages, seeks to establish that Madriaga made “malicious and deliberate falsehoods” in his April 11, 2026 supplemental affidavit.

The filing includes sworn statements from Duterte and 12 corroborating witnesses, as well as government documents, certifications, contemporaneous messages, photographs and public records, Panelo said.

He described Madriaga’s allegations as “baseless” and said the evidence presented by the complainant had collapsed under scrutiny.

Panelo said the extensive filing was intended to ensure that Madriaga would be held accountable under the law and to challenge what he characterized as the “malicious” nature of the impeachment effort against Duterte.

The latest complaint is Duterte’s second perjury case against Madriaga, according to her legal counsel.
