MANILA – Several sea trips were canceled Wednesday due to the effects of Tropical Depression Neneng and the southwest monsoon, according to the Philippine Ports Authority (PPA).
As of 8 a.m. on Aug. 19, the following trips were reported canceled:
PMO Batangas
Abra de Ilog – Island Water
PMO Bicol
TMO Camarines – Starhorse Shipping Lines Inc. trips between San Andres, Quezon, via San Pascual, Masbate, and Pasacao Port, and vice versa
PMO Palawan
TMO Culion – All trips involving vessels with a gross tonnage of 15 GT and below
PMO Mindoro
Port of Lubang – All trips
Port of San Jose – MV Bunso Ferry 2, San Jose to Coron
PMO Agusan
Baseport of Nasipit – MV Lite Ferry 11, Nasipit to Jagna, which was canceled due to a steering problem
The PPA clarified that it does not directly cancel vessel trips. Trips are automatically canceled when the Philippine Coast Guard (PCG) issues a no-sail policy prohibiting vessels from operating.
Shipping lines may also cancel trips in compliance with the terms of their Certificate of Public Convenience (CPC) issued by the Maritime Industry Authority (MARINA).
Passengers are advised to coordinate with their respective shipping lines for updates and possible rebooking arrangements.
