MANILA — Eastern Visayas and parts of Mindanao will experience cloudy skies with scattered rains and thunderstorms on Wednesday due to the trough of a tropical depression, the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA) said.

The affected areas are Eastern Visayas, Caraga, Davao Oriental, Misamis Oriental and Camiguin, where moderate to at times heavy rains could trigger flash floods or landslides.

As of 3 a.m., the tropical depression was located 1,920 kilometers east of southeastern Luzon, outside the Philippine Area of Responsibility, with maximum sustained winds of 55 kilometers per hour near the center and gustiness of up to 70 kph.

It was moving northwestward at 25 kph.

Metro Manila and the rest of the country will have partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated rainshowers or thunderstorms due to localized thunderstorms. Severe thunderstorms may also cause flash floods or landslides.

Moderate winds from the northeast and moderate coastal waters of 1.2 to 2.1 meters are expected over northern and eastern Luzon.

Visayas and Mindanao will experience light to moderate winds with variable direction and slight to moderate coastal waters of 0.6 to 1.8 meters.

The rest of Luzon will have light to moderate winds with variable direction and coastal waters of 0.6 to 1.2 meters.

PAGASA said Metro Manila will have sunrise at 5:45 a.m. and sunset at 5:52 p.m. Wednesday.
