MANILA— Several areas across Luzon and Mindanao may experience rains and thunderstorms on Monday due to the northeast monsoon and easterlies, with possible flash floods and landslides in areas expected to receive moderate to heavy rainfall, the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA) said.

In its 4 a.m. weather bulletin, PAGASA said the northeast monsoon is affecting Northern and Central Luzon, while easterlies are influencing the rest of the country.

Cloudy skies with scattered rains and thunderstorms are expected over Caraga, Camarines Norte, Camarines Sur, Catanduanes, Albay, Sorsogon, Davao Oriental, and Davao Occidental due to the easterlies.

The weather bureau warned of possible flash floods or landslides in these areas because of moderate to occasionally heavy rainfall.

Meanwhile, Cagayan, Isabela, Quirino, Apayao, Kalinga, Mountain Province, Ifugao, Aurora, and Quezon will experience cloudy skies with rains due to the northeast monsoon, with similar flood and landslide risks.

Metro Manila, the Ilocos Region, the rest of the Cordillera Administrative Region, the rest of Cagayan Valley, the rest of Central Luzon, and the rest of CALABARZON will have partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated light rains. No significant weather impacts are expected in these areas.

The rest of the country will experience partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated rain showers or thunderstorms, which may trigger flash floods or landslides during severe thunderstorms.
