MANILA – Philippine Airlines (PAL) will increase the number of its nonstop flights to several North American destinations beginning November as it expands its operations in the region.

In a statement on Friday, the flag carrier said it will add more weekly flights to Vancouver, Toronto and New York to meet demand and improve connectivity between the Philippines and North America.

PAL president Richard Nuttall said the expansion reflects the importance of the North American market to the airline.

“North America continues to be one of Philippine Airlines most important markets.”

Starting Nov. 17, PAL will raise its Manila-Vancouver service from seven to 10 flights a week. The airline will also increase its Manila-Toronto flights from three to four weekly beginning Dec. 5.

Meanwhile, flights between Manila and New York will increase from three to five times a week beginning Dec. 2, covering the peak holiday travel season from December 2026 to January 2027.

“These additional flights strengthen our position as the preferred nonstop carrier between the Philippines and North America whilst providing our customers with greater choice, improved connectivity, and more opportunities to travel, do business, and reconnect with family and loved ones,” Nuttall said.

PAL said the additional services will provide better connections through Manila to destinations across Southeast Asia, including Jakarta, Bali, Phnom Penh, Bangkok, Singapore, Kuala Lumpur and Hanoi.

Passengers traveling to the United States and Canada may also access onward connections through PAL’s airline partners, American Airlines, Alaska Airlines and WestJet.

The carrier added that the expanded flight schedule will also boost cargo capacity for trade, e-commerce and high-value shipments between the Philippines and North America.

Earlier, PAL announced the launch of thrice-weekly nonstop flights between Manila and Chicago starting Nov. 9 as part of its continued expansion in the North American market.
